Strawberry Boy - Better Not Tell You Now | STORM054
Strawberry Boy - Better Not Tell You Now | STORM054
Born from the ashes of Chicago band Pinto, Strawberry Boy is the project of duo Sarah Bogosh and Simon Small.
The live band is a who’s who of Chicago emo - Members of Pool Kids, Typesetter, Lettering and more. Simon has made the journey from Oxford UK over the United States to continue work as a recording engineer and focus on Strawberry Boy but you might know them from their previous band Apologies, I Have None.
It’s a pretty wild collection of folks.
Recorded throughout the pandemic in both London and Chicago, Better Not Tell You Now is a record focused on distance, separation and loss. You can hear the struggle of grief in the songs and its heart achingly beautiful.
The record is epic. A hive mind of emo, indie rock, post rock… Imagine if Explosions In The Sky joined forces with JeJune or Rainer Maria. Swirling guitars, crashing drums, trumpets and strings with Sarahs gentle soprano vocal sitting perfectly on top.
This record is capital E Emo.
BNTYN was released in 2023 but we are pleased to be bringing this dense and beautiful (albeit short!) record to vinyl. It sounds incredible on the turntable. We hope you enjoy!
