Adam Beck (Into It. Over It., Sincere Engineer, Brownie Mountain)
Logan Bloom (Recreational Drugs, Mush, Annabel, Brownie Mountain)
and Sean Kelly

A short lived but monstrous instrumental Chicago math rock trio in the vein of the bands they were in at the time. Merit Badge was a continuation of what Adam and Logan had accomplished in Brownie Mountain but with a different spry youthful energy. No longer based in Bloomington, Merit Badge was almost an extension of Adam and Logan's new move to Chicago - Even the songs are named after their favorite bars and places to eat. 

They trimmed the fat, added some punk and played locally for a couple years before life got in the way and the project fizzled out. 

Before the end of their tenure they recorded this 6 song ripper of an LP. It was never finished... until NOW. As SCLTD nears 100 releases, Merit Badge comes in under the wire as a band that we always hoped would properly get to see the light of day.

Fans of Recreational Drugs, Tera Melos, Loose Lips Sink Ships, Noumenon etc rejoice! 250 copies have been pressed on handpoured vinyl. Every copy looks different. The Jackets are screen printed sequoia chipboard and are hand numbered.
